Just listened to some late '60s krautrock, and I liked it. Anything else? (band was The Shiver)
We need sludgey and droney and stonery metal:
    Dirge
    Sleep
    Bongripper
    Sunn O)))
    Electric Wizard
    Earth
    Neurosis
    Cult of Luna

I'd immediately point out Popol Vuh (Hosianna Mantra), Ash Ra Tempel (self-titled), Amon Duul II (Tanz Der Lemminge, Phallus Dei), and Guru Guru (Kanguru).

if not confined to late 60s, i suggest Faust, Can, Neu!, Triumvirat, Nektar, and Orange Peel in addition to the bands suggested by roach

Never was a fan of TMG or Bright Eyes, to be honest.

I'll look into the others. I tend to be picky vocally, so hopefully I'll find something in this list that tickles my fancy.
