I've seen Black Atlass labeled as RnB, although I don't see the relation with Rythm and Blues, but it's catchy.

It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

A specific band recommendation: I want to start listening to Machine Head. What album should I start with?

Probably best off with going into either their earliest or their latest stuff. I'd probably recommend The Blackening (2007) above any others, but Unto The Locust (2011), Burn My Eyes (1994), and The More Things Change... (1997) are likely places to go from there.

Start with The Blackening, Through The Ashes Of Empires, and Unto The Locust. Then, go back to their earlier stuff with Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change.... Save their middle albums (The Burning Red and Supercharger) for last as they were transitional albums for Machine Head and most people look at them as their weakest although I tend to really like The Burned Red a lot minus their god-awful attempts at being nu-metal that is. Supercharger is pretty bad, they didn't really get into their own until Through The Ashes Of Empires.

Yup, pretty much what roach said.

Somebody actually wants to get into the music of Machine Head? Why?

Pretty good advice for the person trying to get into their music.
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    Amorphis []

Anyone wanna recomend me some thrash? I'm a metal novice and after listening to Among The Living I figured there's got to be more thrash I like. Don't care for the other bands in the Big Four, but the fast chugging tone on ATL to me is great. Figured I would like bands that lean more towards hardcore than towards speed metal (less solos and heavy metal vocals, etc) Year doesn't matter.

    Sorry for my so-so english!

If you're looking for stuff that leans more to the the hardcore side, then Crossover Thrash should be right up your alley. Here are some samples:

    Attitude Adjustment
    Cro-Mags
    D.R.I.
    Municipal Waste
    Wehrmacht

And if you're looking for even faster stuff, I can recommend some Thrashcore as well. So see how you like the songs I linked and let me know if you're looking foro, something with an even higher tempo.

Wow thanks, all of the songs were great and fun. Municipal Waste sounded the most like what I was looking for but I'm liking the D.R.I. song the most so i will be checking those two out first.
You can save the thrascory stuff for later maybe
