Hey all. I need some recommendations for They Might Be Giants, Men At Work, and The Church.

Can I get some good recommendations for Rockabilly in the vein of Stray Cats, Eddie Cochran, and Scotty Moore?

How 'bout some recs for Don Ellis' work?

I already have How Time Passes and I thought it was quite good, but I'd like some more.

Also, give me some Jazz that has a good crossover factor for fans of Prog Rock.

    Stratus - Billy Cobham

Try this song off that album: http://www.zeec.de/video/99588/3915/...m-billy-cobham

Yes, I am uploading songs to an obscure German site to avoid copyright claims...
One time some *** wore a Merzbow shirt to class so we all threw rocks at him and kicked him in the head until he died lol

Electric Bath is one of my favorites from Don Ellis. Also, if you're trying to get into jazz, you might want to look into Miles Davis' late 60s to early 70s work, particularly In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew. The Mahavishnu Orchestra are another good group if you aren't already familiar with them, check out Birds of Fire and Inner Mounting Flame. Just about any jazz fusion is a good gateway into jazz from a prog standpoint, however.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

I suppose it'd be good for me to mention what I already have!

    Ain Soph
    Kenso
    Miles Davis
    Charles Mingus
    Chris Potter
    The Mahavishnu Orchestra
    Chicago
    Don Ellis (obv)
    Woody Herman
    Lionel Hampton

As far as Jazz/Jazz Fusion is concerned.

But thank you for the Don Ellis rec.

Billy Cobham ranks amongst my 5 favorite drummers of all time (along with Buddy Rich, Max Roach, Carl Palmer, and Elvin Jones). He is no doubt objectively one of the 10 best.
