I need some Krautrock. I already have the obvious ones like Ash Ra Tempel's s/t, Phallus Dei, Tago Mago, Neu! 2, Tangerine Dream's discography. I always hear about Faust, what would be their best album to start with?

the debut and faust IV are good to start out with and then move on to the other 70's material when you're cool with them just being more of an experimental unit, rather than a krautrock band.

also, here's my three favorite krautrock albums...
paternoster - self titled, agitation free - malesch, and annexus quam - osmose

a few other lesser known bands i highly recommend include...
xhol caravan, guru guru, embryo, brainticket, german oak, eroc, cluster, a.r. & machines, dzyan, birth control, jane, emtidi, between, yatha sidhra, my solid ground, popul vuh, and gila.

I'm cool with them being a more experimental unit than most krautrock and after previewing a couple of their songs on youtube I think I'll go with the experimental period first along with Faust IV, Thanks for the other recommendations also.

I suggest Can's Monster Movie for krautrock
