I am looking for recommendations for Blind Guardian and Iced Earth.

With Blind Guardian I'd recommend Follow the Blind, Imaginations from the Other Side, and A Night at the Opera. For Iced Earth Night of the Stormrider, Burnt Offerings, and(controversial as it may seem) Horror Show would be which I would choose for first buys.
