Does anybody have any listening experience with Black Light Burns? Are they worth checking out?

    No problem at all.

sore eros - second chants (lo-fi dreamy psych-pop)
hunx and his punx - gay singles (poppy garage-punk for menz)
pianos become the teeth - old pride (fairly "by the numbers" take on the current post-rock meets screamo style, but executed really damn well.)
jeremy jay - slow dance (disco and classic pop influenced twee)
tyondai braxton - central market (dude from battles goes avant-classical)
ovens - self titled (powerpop for cokeheads who HATE new weezer)
ganglians - monster head room (excellent mix of punk/new wave, 60's psychedelic pop, and 90's indie rock)
sawhorse - cover it with asphalt (i mentioned this in the post-rock thread earlier today, but any fan of the first two GYBE releases must hear this album)
to kill a petty bourgeoisie - marlone (imagine mazzy star if she went electronic instead of acoustic after opal. a strangely dark, yet accessible album)
factums - flowers (pretty strange mix of noisy industrial, post-punk, and psych/shoegaze)
boy in static - candy cigarette (quirky, ultra-catchy electro-pop. gone is the slow-mo shoegaze of the past)
death - ...for the whole world to see (proto-hardcore from the mid-70's finally seeing their full-length debut)
    Thanks again, man!

I assume that last band is a different Death than the one we all know and love, correct?

Yes it is. I've heard of them, but I didn't know they were Proto-Hardcore, I'm intrigued now.

Thank you for the boredoms and deerhoof, got thru 2 albums, will come back for the rest!
It was truly awesome and made me draw with more enthusiasm, I like that kinda stuff to help me write/draw/just close my eyes and listen.

the story goes that they were apparently 3 black dudes who played around in a soul band, but then they saw the stooges.
apparently they released a 7" back in '74 or so and helped inspire both bad brains and black flag, but never released a proper full-length until now when one of the guys let his son hear these old masters.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass (best Beatles solo album, if you ask me)
John Lennon - Double Fantasy (you may also want to check out Working Class Hero: The Definitive Lennon for some non-album tracks)
Paul McCartney (& Wings) - Band On The Run
    Ringo Starr - probably "Ringo"

The end part of that sounds vaguely familiar, think I could find this on soulseek?
