I've checked out some Irepress, what's Tombs like? (I mean, I'll listen to them, but any albums in particular, and are they instrumental? etc...)
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

Tombs is vaguely blackish post-metal. Very sludgy drumming, which is probably my favorite part of the band. Not instrumental.

Also, while I may not be 'stasis, I suggest you check out the Atlas Moth, if you haven't already. Sludgier post-metal with some screamed vocals (as well as more traditional post-metal vocals backing them up). Also have great drumming.

Can somebody recommend some music to me that is reminiscent of Sam Cooke and other soul musicians of his time? The catch is that I would appreciate if they were still in their prime today or this decade. I don't know much contemporary soul music but hopefully someone here can help me find some.

Anyone have anything to recommend that would in line with Herman Düne? I love the sombre vibe i get from most of their stuff, and the inclusion of a variety of instruments.

most people throw them under the anti-folk umbrella so i'd suggest looking up jeffrey lewis, earlier adam green, and thanksgiving.

    What exactly is anti-Folk anyway?
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

    do you have "definitely, maybe"?

if you already have it, don't even bother with the rest of their discography, i like a few songs off of "dig out your soul" but nothing they did after that combined tops either of their first 2 albums individually
