Opeth's early stuff is cool, Watershed was dreadfully boring, as was The Ghost Reveries.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

EDIT: if you liked Coquelcot how good were the songs "Penelope", "Let's Do Everything For The First Time Forever", "Dreamy Day of Daydreaming of You" and "The Hopeless Opus..."
it's more of the name than anything, but "Penelope" is quickly becoming my newest favorite song, I can't stop listening to the album, especially the the spoken word track (that's quoted in my sig now) I love the craziness

I started Opeth with Watershed and Blackwater Park. I love both albums.
Y'all remind me of my grandsons but they like Ice Cube movies so I can't never speak to them again. Excuse me, I'ma get me some Kool-aid.

Nope. I'd expect you to say that about Kreator, but not Opeth. Both bands are incredible, though. Definitely worth checking out all of Opeth's discography, and everything but Kreator's 90s material.

I'd say Opeth is bad, but not horrible.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

I apologize in advance for the length of this post.
Basically, I'm coming here asking you good people for help in broadening my musical horizons. I'm really into metal, and I'm also totally looking for any recommendations of other metal bands anyone may think I'd enjoy, but I'd also like some non-metal bands I should check out.
So I'll just post my iTunes essentially:
Amon Amarth, Anvil, Arch Enemy, Arcturus, Austrian Death Machine, At the Gates, Bathory, Be'lakor, Black Sabbath, Blind Guardian, a few Cannibal Corpse songs (I never really got into them, but I like a couple of their songs), Cynic, Death, Dethklok, Dimmu Borgir, Dio, Dream Theater, Eluveitie, Emperor, Ensiferum, Evile, Exodus, Forbidden, GWAR, I, Iced Earth, Immortal, In Mourning, Iron Maiden, Journey, Judas Priest, Kataklysm, Keep of Kalessin, Korpiklaani, Kreator, Lamb of God, Led Zeppelin, Machine Head, Manowar, Mastodon, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate, Metallica, Motorhead, Municipal Waste, Muse, Nightwish, Nuclear Assault, Opeth, Over Kill, Ozzy, Pantera, Primordial, Rammstein, Two RHCP songs (Otherside & Californication), Rob Zombie, Rush, Satyricon, Septic Flesh, Sepultura, Serj Tankian, Slayer, Sodom, System of a Down, Tenacious D, Testament, Turisas, Vader, Venom, Vio-Lence, White Zombie, and Wintersun.

What am I missing? Obviously I'd like more metal, any other alternative bands (I really love Muse), electronic music, maybe even some jazz or other genres. You tell me.

EDIT: After sifting through the forums for a bit, I stumbled upon a link Gowienczyk posted, the song "Eraser" by Hypocrisy, and I really like it. However, I noticed that they have a pretty hefty discography, so I was looking for some albums or songs to get me started with them.

    Pretty broad request.
Slaughter - Strappado. Early punky Death/Thrash.
Hypocrisy - Osculum Obscenum. Hypocrisy's best work.

For jazzy hip-hop albums get any of the first three A Tribe Called Quest albums.
