Well I spent a few hours getting used to the pad set up - the scores definitely got better, and I was able to beat Pain Killer and Panic Attack with little issue so I must be getting used to them.

Funny note, when I first sat down tonight I could barely 5 star songs I usually easily G* - the whole cymbal thing really mixes it up

Also, it seems my cymbal isn't quite as sensitive as I'd like - it drops quick successions of notes if I don't play it with reasonable force. Time to change cymbals I think

My cymbals are TERRIBLE. I'm wondering if I have a defective drum brain or if its the cymbals because both of them are bad.

david sheck, where are your youtube videos? I'd like to see how your set is working. I'm also wondering about my pads. I'm fine with them but they could also definitely be more sensitive. There are times when I just let the stick loosely fall on them and it doesn't trigger. And it's enough to get a rebound so I figure it should be enough to register.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I ended up getting my entire kit replaced from the website that I purchased it from.

If you call Ion you can probably get the controller module replaced, but they won't ship you a new one until they receive your old one. I called the number listed on the drum rocker website for tech support/warranty.

Yeah yeah.. obvious to some. I don't ever go to youtube and myspace and stuff. It's not worth wading through all the garbage out there. I'm actually a web developer - I'm probably the only one in the world without a myspace and facebook page.

I've had my Ion for 3 days now and every game session it has "disconnected" during the middle of a song. I've emailed Ion, we'll see what happens. This is very disappointing

To all the people having cymbal problems...I think I now see what you are talking about. Until today I only had the pintech cymbals (TC-10 and PC-14 for hi hat and crash) hooked up and the sensitivity was excellent, on par with the pads. I just now hooked up one of the stock ION cymbals to use as blue and what a difference. I know David said that the sensitivity of his ION cymbals was fine but I can really tell the difference in freestyle sections. I definitely have to hit the stock cymbal quite a bit harder than either of the Pintechs to get it to register. It seems to work better in game as I think I only had one 'miss' that should have registered but that is still not acceptable.

Looks like I may have to ebay my 2 ION cymbals and use the cash to buy another pintech. I might try some adjustments first to see if I can make it better but honestly I like the look, sound, and feel of the pintechs better
