5 Reasons Why the Pro Bowl is Gonna Suck.

1. Undeserving players. Clinton Portis was the leading rusher for the first 7 or so games, but totally blew the last half of the season, and the Redskins aren't going to the playoffs. Brett Favre was picked over PHILLIP RIVERS, Matt Cassel, and Roethlisberger. All of which, are having better seasons.


2. It's more of a popularity contest, really. Don't let the fans vote anymore.

3. It's still in Hawaii. Don't get me wrong, beautiful place. But switch it up, please. Bahamas maybe?

4. 3 pittsburgh players got in, all on Defense btw. Really? Terrell Suggs did nothing this season, he's in.


5. The stadium. Seriously guys? If this really is the "2008 Pro Bowl", for the Elite players. Why isn't the stadium nicer?

Anyways, I'm sick of the Pro Bowl. I'll probably still watch some of it, but the voting is terrible.

The Pro Bowl in the NFL doesn't work because is comes after the Super Bowl.

If this was mid-season, it would rock. But they don't do it, since I guess too risky for injury.

Yeah it means jack sh** unlike the all star game in baseball. It's a vacation for the players and nothing more. Plus a lot of guys don't even want to go.

1. Portis being a 3rd string in the pro bowl I can understand, I figured he was starting from how you said it. And I agree that Rivers being snubbed is absolute BS, but I am very glad Favre isn't starting considering he got a majority of the fan vote. But yeah, Cassel and Roethlisberger were both very deserving.

2. Agreed, but as I mentioned at least Favre isn't starting =p

3. I don't see why this makes the actual game suck.

4. Terrell Suggs is actually having a pretty good season. 58 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 2 picks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 TD's. I don't know if that's necessarily a pro bowl season vs. the other AFC OLB's, but I know it's a lot more than "nothing."

5. Don't know enough about the stadium to comment on it.

Why they even bother to play the game anymore is beyond me. The game has long been a farce. Announce the players and be done with it. Spend the money they normally spend to fly the players and their families (or whoever gets to go with them) to Hawaii and give it to the retired players who played before the days of fat contracts and can't walk anymore because they don't have enough money to get proper medical treatment.

Second year in a row Driver has gotten in over Jennings even though Jennings has better stats.

Driver: 62 catches, 838 yards, 4 TD's
Jennings: 69 catches, 1153 yards, 8 TD's.

Jennings is defiantly the most underrated player if he can't even make the Pro Bowl with those stats.
