In 1992 the first major grunge band to emerge from outside of Seattle released their debut album, Core. Though critically criticized for Scott's familiar sounding vocals, Core was loved by the fans of the 90s and jump started STP's career. The album went 8 times platinum and is "one of the best-selling albums of all-time in the United States." It ranks among the top albums of the grunge era.
We got Ten from Pearl Jam and most of Nevermind from Nirvana. The next major albums from the era that are needed are Superunknown from Soundgarden, Dirt from Alice in Chains, and Core from Stone Temple Pilots. Superunknown is a possibility because of the disc songs and so is Dirt because of Rock Band: Unplugged. Core is the least likely, so we need to let Harmonix know that we want it!
UPDATE 1: Scott Weiland has given his share of Stone Temple Pilots master tracks (which is currently unknown) to Bug Music, which on its website has a master track request form that a company like Harmonix would fill out to obtain the licenses and master tracks for a period of time. Steppenwolf, Iggy Pop, and Black Stone Cherry are among the clients whose masters belong to Bug Music.
Fill out the form Harmonix!
UPDATE 2: I sent an email to both Bug Music and Signatures Network. They seemed to be the only places that I could find that advertise on their website that STP is their client. I hope I get some responses!
UPDATE 3: Scott and his independent label, Softdrive Records, has a YouTube channel which they update regularly and respond to messages. Subscribe and let them know that you want Core in Rock Band! I've tried and they said that they "will see what they can do."
