I don't know, Scenes From A Memory, Images And Words, and Awake are all pretty solid and you can make an argument for all of them for being their best album. To me, it's just about a 3-way tie, but some qualities of each album makes it slightly better than another.

I've edited my rankings a little bit:

    1. Images And Words
    2. Awake

I&W has too many ballads/filler to be the top album or even better than Awake.

What filler is there on I&W aside from Wait For Sleep?

    5. Pull Me Under

    7. Surrounded
    8. Wait For Sleep
I would put Surrounded above Pull Me Under~ and make Metropolis Pt. 1 first and Learning To Live second.

The glut of ballads on I&W really killed that album for me, it would always cut away into one of LaBrie's pretentious pieces as soon as I was getting into it.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

    6. Another Day
    7. Surrounded
    8. Wait For Sleep
This order is decent. I'd put Learning to Live and Another day at the very top and then reorder the rest from there.

    Awake
    1. Voices
    2. Innocence Faded
    3. Erotomania
    4. Scarred
    5. Lifting Shadows Off A Dream
    6. The Mirror
    7. The Silent Man
    8. Caught In A Web
    9. Space-Dye Vest
    10. 6:00
    11. Lie
Space-Dye Vest has always been my favorite on the album, and Caught In a Web just sucks.

    Scenes From A Memory
    1. Finally Free
    2. The Dance Of Eternity
    3. Home
    4. Strange Deja Vu
    5. Beyond This Life
    6. Fatal Tragedy
    7. Overture 1928
    8. The Spirit Carries On
    9. One Last Time
    10. Through Her Eyes
    11. Through My Words
    12. Regression
I've never, ever liked Dance of Eternity. However, Home is my favorite song in that album, with Fatal Tragedy next and then Through Her Eyes.

Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence Disc 1
    1. Blind Faith
    2. The Great Debate
    3. The Glass Prison
    4. Misunderstood
    5. Disappear
Misunderstood is my favorite song in that disc. The rest is about right.

Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence Disc 2
    1. About To Crash
    2. War Inside My Head
    3. About To Crash (Reprise)
    4. The Test That Stumped Them All
    5. Solitary Shell
    6. Overture
    7. Losing Time / Grand Finale
    8. Goodnight Kiss
    I agree with this though.

    Falling Into Infinity
    1. Lines In The Sand
    2. Peruvian Skies
    3. Trial Of Tears
    4. Hell's Kitchen
    5. New Millenium
    6. Hollow Years
    7. Just Let Me Breathe
    8. Anna Lee
    9. Take Away My Pain
    10. Burning My Soul
    11. You Not Me
Trial of Tears to the top. Just Let Me Breathe to the bottom.

    Black Clouds & Silver Linings
    1. The Count Of Tuscany
    2. A Nightmare To Remember
    3. The Best Of Times
    4. The Shattered Fortress
    5. A Rite Of Passage
    6. Wither
Nightmare To Remember is the worst song on the album, I feel. Well... kinda. The middle, slow part is nice, but the heavy part is lame.

    When Dream And Day Unite
    1. A Fortune In Lies
    2. Status Seeker
    3. Light Fuse And Get Away
    4. The Ytse Jam
    5. The Killing Hand
    6. Only A Matter Of Time
    7. Afterlife
    8. The Ones Who Help To Set The Sun
    Haven't listened to, can't judge.

    Train Of Thought
    1. Stream Of Consciousness
    2. In The Name Of God
    3. Endless Sacrifice
    4. Honor Thy Father
    5. This Dying Soul
    6. As I Am
    7. Vacant
I've never liked Stream of Consciousness.

    Systematic Chaos
    1. In The Presence Of Enemies Pt. II
    2. The Ministry Of Lost Souls
    3. Repentance
    4. In The Presence Of Enemies Pt. I
    5. Forsaken
    6. The Dark Eternal Night
    7. Constant Motion
    8. Prophets Of War
I LIKE Prophets of War. Ministry of Lost Souls, Prophets, and Repentance at the top. Dark Eternal night at the bottom.

    Octavarium
    1. Octavarium
    2. Sacrificed Sons
    3. These Walls
    4. The Root Of All Evil
    5. Never Enough
    6. Panic Attack
    7. The Answer Lies Within
    8. I Walk Beside You
    [/quote]

    I'd switch 7 and 8.

Jus tthought I'd throw this out there for DT fans. It's their song The Shattered Fortress with some special guests including:
    MUSE
    The Beatles
    Opeth
    The Disturbed
    and many more.
    It's amazing remix.
