Those are the killer in that setlist.
I'm going to play some Beatles tonight but I'll be switching over later if anyone's on.

Can all you guys show up on rb and in chat or skype by 10PM eastern Friday? I'd like to get together a little early if possible and debug any connection issues or instruments not being able to hear each other before we go for it for real. And we can practice on some of the 45 DLC the 4 of us have in common
lol, u have skype Chuck? I guess I never got your skype name all this time! Sure I can be there for Friday at 10pm EST. I'll be on tonight when I get home too.

With the OMB v SLHB battle picking up steam, I think Daemon & I could get Bazoozoo to make the next weeks a OMB v SLHB v BiA battle. If we can expand further and get at least 16-20 people (it looks like were at 10-12 already) how about forming some sort of league? If we find that 1 or 2 bands dominate, then we could have a “draft” using solo scores/rankings to try and even things out (or just move a few people around if people really want to stay in one band). With that, there’s going to be certain people that can’t be put together due to console/schedule/etc. so we would need a commissioner with great organizational skillz. Teams/bands switch every so often & have some side games like:

-Rotation: 4 battles, you play a different instrument for each (increases the value of multi-experts)
-Random: Band members are picked out of a hat
-I’m sure we can come up with many more

I realize we’re still in infancy stages of regular/weekly battle play but if we set something like this as a goal, perhaps we can keep the interest level up. Plus, I haven’t actually jammed with many of the people I have friend codes for, would be a great motivator to finally put those to use.

I forgot you do fantasy football and basketball. BUT, a draft would be an interesting idea. And I'm sure there are some other Wii and 360 people who might be interested in joining. And I've NEVER seen a PS person on SLHB - a whole new untouched market. The main problem I see is sustainability if we start throwing more teams in, there will start being times when a team won't be able to get enough members together to post a full band score. Maybe a rotation schedule of the 3rd party bands? Not sure.

Take a look at the discussion that started on my forum: SLHB vs tOMB vs ???

I'm always into expanding my RB playing and for keeping interest levels up. Chuck raises a good point though of "Yes, the interest in the SLHB/tOMB battle is really high... right now, before it even gets started. The two-way thing was tried once before, and apparently just that much wasn't sustainable at the time. Let's give the two-way battle a few weeks to actually occur and see if the interest stays at these "way more people than fit in two bands" levels."

I say there is no harm in trying to organize something and certainly trying to hash out details. Perhaps the discussion could be on the link I posted above so that it could open it up to members outside t.O.M.B.? Also, although this is a 2 band event for now, many other people have informally challenged us as you can see from scores posted on the 1st battle.

By the way, if you all don't have plans for tonight: The 2nd Battle is on. SPECIAL EVENT: SLHB vs. t.O.M.B. "Ye Olde Farts Band" Battle of the Bands Live Streaming on Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 pm Eastern Time.
Come watch the stream and cheer us on!

Apparently you and Archibald are on the same wavelength. I already posted my concerns about the idea on the thread at the link there, but I do like the idea as a goal.

    Megatron and Archibald for co-commissioner?

    Edit: Ninja'ed by HB?!? Ack!

Man I would if I could but right now I'm having enough trouble just finding time for on-line play.

Agree on the interest points, just wanted to put this out there as maybe a goal to work towards. Find out who's going to consitently be involved and then maybe have a pool of subs. I think if we just do this as straight up "put a band toghether and post a score" there's going to be a few super-groups that will dominate every week and drive others away. We do have the advantage of winter coming up to trap us inside and a few more of us will be adding an XBox this Christmas to open up more cross-platform options.

Perhaps start with some baby steps, see how the first few weeks go and then mix and match a few bands to get them around an equal level. Might mean you have to play a non-primary instrument (i.e. drums or vox for me) but that's all fun too.

    Edit:
Just read Arch's post & we're definately on the same brain pattern

    ha!

    Huh...

    Megatron, great minds think alike!

I don't know about co-commissioner my friend, I am just a nerdy quant, so I can be the statistician instead!

Let's see how things go... if it continues to generate a following, and more people show more interest. I can help out in the organization.

So some of my office co-workers and I went as a rock band today... I went as Archibald...

I wouldn't mind being part of a "B-Team" attempt at it.I'm not as skilled as Mega (been cursing and shaking my head at friend leaderboards for many moons)
I did not do so bad subbing in on a random band's attempt at it last night.Just a three-piece but we placed 4th and I FC'd three of the songs.Wedding and Round and Round were the killers of course.
So Riptide,Arch, and Clare you guys want to have a go at it?Not expecting trophies, but a whole lot of fun!
