I don't think anyone else will hear your drum roll, though. I don't think there really is a good way to do that. I think if the leader keeps backing out at the end of several songs then that is just to give everyone an opportunity to leave if they need to at that point.

I don't know what happened to him. Several of the earliest names on this thread were already not adding me in by the time I responded and didn't otherwise respond on the thread, so I don't know what happened to them. I'm glad he started the thread as well, though, or else I wouldn't have had the oportunity to meet Bazoozoo and his very lovely girlfriend on this trip to San Diego. Thanks so much for the hospitality, guys! (Even if I wasn't able to keep up as well as I would have liked on vocals tonight, it was still a lot of fun!)

Yeah, there are a few inactives for sure.
I remember when I first joined the thread, I entered everyones FC... but ones that were still sitting in Pending about a month after, I eventually deleted.

Sounds like you're having a good trip Z, when are you back on your home turf so we can try and schedule a rock band play date?

    -------------------

Other random topic: The Wii dlc catalog is slowly but surely starting to have a bit of substance. Personally I never planned on being a 'get all dlc that exists' guy... because there are some songs I just don't enjoy. But I'm around 70 dlc now, which I think is around 50%, and about where I figured I would be.

With that said, I'm always hunting for new stuff, and since we're all generally in the same demographic in this thread... and we have a lot of different musical preferences/tastes... thought it would be a good place to ask about any 'gems' of dlc that you've found, and any 'lumps of coal'.

For example, for me, gem wise, I can't stop playing "Joker & The Thief" by Wolfmother, and "Thrash Unreal" by Against Me! I find them a tremendous amount of fun to play, and both are extremely catchy. The first time I heard either song was when previewing them in the music store.

Lump of coal wise, I got caught up in the hype and picked up a couple of funk songs, "Pick up the Pieces" by Average White Band, and the James Brown song. While initially fun and novel... drumming wise they become repetitive... and each one seems about 2 minutes too long. With a do over, I wouldn't buy them again. Likewise, even as a fan of The Who, I wish I had passed on the My Generation Live at Leeds. Keith Moon's live randomness aside, the live nature of the recording makes it very difficult to pick out the notes for me... and as largely a by-ear player this makes playing it bordering on frustrating.

Anyone else have any 'must have' and 'wish I didn't have' DLC suggestions?

    Sunday morning RB blogging again....
Was introduced to this site via another thread here in band wanted: http://dlcquickplay.com/

This is a pretty nifty little site where you create your profile, and check off what dlc you have.
The nifty part is it compares your dlc catalog with the dlc catalog of other folks on the site, and you can see who you have a lot of stuff in common with, and even what songs you have in common.
i.e. I found out that HamsterRiot and I match a lot of our dlc together.

Even niftier, it has methods of contacting people, so if you see your dlc matches up with someone really well, and... as hard as this is to believe... they don't post in this thread... you can send them an email via the dlcquickplay site. Say if you wanted to swap FC's or something.

See the sort of stuff you discover when it's too early in the morning to play drums because your spouse is asleep?

Thought this would be a cool way for all of us to compare dlc lists.
What I really like about it, is if you look at the dlc list of other players, it will tell you what they have that you don't... so if you notice that a lot of people have one song that you don't, you may want to think about picking it up.

good posts pk, couldn't agree more on the James Brown, repeats on par with the Beastie Boys. BORING. I haven't gotten nearly as much dlc as I thought I would at this point, but I have a lot of it already on TP1. I like Siva & Crushcrushcrush. I also like a lot of the free dlc, Get It On by The Chevelles is one of the most fun songs to play on guitar.

Going to pick up GH Metallica this morning, I'll post a quick review once I've had a chance to play a few sessions.

Pub: I have an account with dlcquickplay (in my sig). I like the site because after you register you click the "compare" button at the top and then you enter in someone's ID and it'll give you list of the DLC you have in common.

You can just click the "find players" button and it gives you a list of all the people on the Wii that have registered and you'll probably recognize many names on there.

Zarlor: lots of fun! I'm impressed with Mara; she hardly plays with me and she was going at it on hard drums... jeez... Btw, I figured out the rock pedal problem too. The nut was loose on the pedal height adjustment so it had bottomed out (hence the clanking sound at the end). I raised up the pedal start height and that fixed it. I can't find my adjustment key though... :-(

HoneyB: it was fun jamming with you. Zarlor and I were alternating on guitar/bass. I wish I could've done hard guitar but I didn't want to fail out (I failed out of a song on Friday night within the first minute).

Welcome ncdiscgolfher . (Edit: Deleted instructions to find FC compilation so that when others enter the search term to pull up the thread, THIS message does not come up.)
I'll add you next time I'm on the wii.

Bazoozoo- at first I was confused about who Duke was, then I saw your message here and was glad to find out it was Zarlor-- the thought of 2 singers in one band and in one room made me chuckle. and when I heard back up vocals on a song, I imagined either you or Z, singing the back up.
Also, I wanted you to know that I loved the chat on your tv site so much that I decided to create a page for myself, just for chatting. The site is
    http://www.ustream.tv/channel/honey-bee
I plan to have the page open whenever I am playing RB on wii. So if you want to communicate with me when I am playing, chat with me there. If you send me invites, I can tell you (at the end of a song, if I am in the middle of one) if I can accept your invite. Also, during a song we can communicate.
