Battle Of The Grunge Four Singers

Who do you think of the four big grunge bands had the best vocals?

IMO: Eddie Vedder with Chris Cornell in a close second

Definitely Layne closely followed by Eddie.

I don't care much for Kurt's voice and I haven't heard much of Cornell's vocals to make an educated opinion.

    This.

Cornell blows almost any singer out of the water, regardless of genre...well a young Cornell.

Though I do perfer Layne more, but there's no denying Chris has more umf in him.

I did have a feeling many people would prefer Cornell and while I do agree he is great I like Vedder because of his great variety

It's pretty tight between Chris and Eddie. While Vedder has an incredible voice, I think Cornell wins with sheer power.

i like vedder the best, with cornell a very close second. vedder's vocals are very unique, and be melancholy or angry. it just fits perfectly with pearl jam as a whole. cornell has amazing range and is a great screamer (sounds like a paradox, but his screams are listenable without being obnoxious). soundgarden's songs are generally gloomy and sludgey and his vocal style definitely works with his band as well.

id put staley 3rd. he's also incredibly great and conveying emotion in AIC's songs, but his voice as a whole just isnt as good as vedder's or cornell's.

kurt cobain is a distant last. i like nirvana, but he's by far the worst singer out of these 4. he sounds terrible when he tries to yell, and his voice is just rough and unpleasant overall compared to the others.

I'll have to go with Cornell, but the other three are very close, for varying reasons.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.
