    Idea: Rock Band: iPhone/iTouch Edition

If it would be possible, it would be awesome to have a 50-song game on the iPhone/touch. While multiplayer couldn't be done, you could use the iPhone mic to do vocals, and tap the screen for guitar/bass/drums. You could sell it for $14.99. All these songs could also be later released as DLC for consoles. Here's a proposed tracklist, with 10 songs from every decade:

    1960's
Astronomy Domine by Pink Floyd (Psychedelic Rock 1967)
For Your Love by The Yardbirds (Rock 1965)

I Wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges (Classic Rock 1969)
Piece of My Heart by Big Brother and the Holding Company (Rock 1968)
The Pusher by Steppenwolf (Classic Rock 1968)
Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane (Rock 1967)

White Room by Cream (Classic Rock 1968)
You're Gonna Miss Me by The 13th Floor Elevators (Psychedelic Rock 1966)

Would love that, except for I don't have a iPhone/Touch.

That's great stuff! Much better than the current "Guitar Rock Tour" that is available in the App Store. Wow! You really got me thinking. I would LOVE if HMX did something for the iPhone/iPod touch. Great idea, dude! Kudos.

I would like a lot of those songs to be in Rock Band first.
Not to mention not everyone, including me, has an iPhone/iTouch~

It wouldn't work putting this game out first and then making the songs DLC later because then we would basically know what's coming out for .... I'm not sure, but at least a few months. However long it takes for them to put out 50 songs.

It would be a much better idea to take songs already in Rock Band and release them for this iPhone game.
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

Well, Harmonix did release Phase, which does allow you to play the music on your iPod, but the idea you have here sounds much cooler, and you have a great setlist.

I like the idea and while I do not have an iPod Touch/iPhone I would love the songs as DLC plus it would allow Harmonix to compete with GH On Tour for the DS

Not a bad idea, though I think it wouldn't be so simple...
    I only see 3 major problems with the idea though;
For the space issue, I'm estimating at least about 2-4gb.
Right now, itouch can hold 32gb which wouldn't be a major problem.
However, iPhones can only hold up to 16gb right now. I can predict a major lag with this application...

Branching off the space issue would come the time needed- it'd be quite a mofo downloading such a game if my calculations for how much space it takes up is correct.

Then comes the singing issue. While it would be efficient to be able to use the mic... think of the embarrassment of playing it out in public (assuming you have a terrible voice), let alone attempting to reading the lyrics (unless it were to use the speaker option, in which case would be terrible sensitivity)

That's just my 2 cents though.

I don't see why they can't just make phase available for the phone/ touch.
