Wait, I'm confused... there is clearly something you can do with Rock Band drums that I did not know about? What the heck is acoustic drumming?

"Acoustic drums" is the correct term to use.

I did see a video of a guy using an acoustic set on RB. I think he used electronic triggers and an ION brain.

I'm holding off on the cymbals b/c I plan on taking you guy's advice and going to my local Guitar Center, and other music shops (about 70 miles away) and hearing them for myself to make a decision.

Thanks for all your help. I'll post some pics once everything arrives and get it setup.
Dude, right on man, I'm way stoked for you! You'll love your new drums. Good call on the cymbals, trust me, you won't regret it and you'll understand why David and myself recommended to go and tap, hit and smack cymbals yourself. Plan on being there awhile and don't be afraid to hit every cymbal they have, at least the ones in your price range.

We'll be waiting for those pics. Oh yeah, does your set come with a bass pedal? Sorry if I missed that, but I'm curious on the pedal your getting. Talk with you soon.
    Blessed are the SIC!!

I'd check out the TAMA Imperial Star Line too. Go check out the kits in person if you can.
