    1955 - Weekly sales of the New Musical Express topped 100,000 for the first time

    1969 - The Beatles appointed Eastman and Eastman, Linda Eastman`s father`s law firm, as general counsel to Apple. This was McCartney`s response to the hiring of Allen Klein the previous day.

    1972 - Black Dog by Led Zeppelin is #15 in the US

    1973 - Lucky Man, re-promoted in the US to co-incide with ELP's Tour peaks at #51

    1973 - Whiskey In The Jar, a guitar driven version of a folk song, gets Thin Lizzy a surprise hit in the UK, it's #6

    1977 - Hard Luck Woman featuring drummer Peter Criss on lead vocal gets KISS a #15 hit in the US.

    1978 - Blue Oyster Cult`s Spectres makes #60 in the UK while the band begins a massive 250 date US Tour promoting their previous album and recording for a live album.

    1978 - Beauty And The Beast from Heroes is #39 in the UK while David Bowie and his wife Angie agree to split while Bowie is in Berlin shooting filming his role in the film Just A Gigolo.

    1979 - Judas Priest's first hit single, Take On The World, is at #14 in the UK

    1980 - Rush's Permanent Waves album is #4 in the US and #3 in the UK

    1981 - Iron Maiden's Killers, half live half studio album containing 4 new tracks, reaches UK #12 and US #78

    1982 - Journey's Open Arms hits US #2 for 6 weeks behind Joan Jett's I Love Rock n' Roll and is the bands first million seller.

    1984 - Looks That Kill is the first single from Motley Crue's Shout At The Devil. It spends ten weeks in the charts and peaks at number fifty four.

    1989 - 2 albums from Guns n Roses, Appetite For Destruction and GnR Lies, were both in the Top 5 of the US Album Chart making them the first act in 15 years to accomplish the feat. The last artist to do it was Jim Croce who had sadly died shortly before his mega success. Three years later Garth Brooks would duplicate the achievment.

    1989 - A re-mix of Blondie`s Call Me peaks at #61 in the US

    I'm disappointed. I came to this thread, hoping to find out more of the misadventures of Mötley Crüe and got nothing! I want my money back! Haha

    LOL! Apparently they took Feb 4 off , if I know the Crue they`ll be drunk tomorrow.
