Of course, I also prefer the former.
    i enjoy both albums immensely.
i could do without a lot of the post-quadrophenia tunes, but there are still quite a few good ones during that period.

that's quite a list, not being a drummer I doubt I could name 25 drummers total. My favs would be Danny Carey - Tool, Mike Portnoy - Dream Theatre, Keith Moon - The Who, and Mitch Mitchel - Hendrix. I could name 100's of other band members, just not many drummers who have stood out to me. Tony Dixon is one of my fav drummers, but he's a local. Amazing guy, played in 3 groups with him and he never ceased to amaze me.

i like drake a lot too, but bennink's performance on "machine gun" is beyond incredible... "schwarzwaldfahrt" is just bonus points on top of that.

I'm very surprised to see that you're a Palmer fan and a Cobham fan.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

try giving some of those artists a listen. they may not do anything for you, but who knows... you may find a new favorite!
Believe me this was not a knock on your list at all. You did not say this is who you think is the best. I am not a drummer or a musician for that madder. I do not know enough of the technical aspect of playing music to really judge it for technique. So for me a best of list is only good if I like the song or band. As far as drummers go I only know a few by name and others by band. I will listen to as many on your list of the ones I do not know when I get time. Always like listening to new stuff to me. I got plenty of room on my IPOD to give them a listen.
