    R.I.P. Storm Thorgerson

Arguably the best, and certainly one of the most prolific album cover artists has passed. Best known for his Pink Floyd album covers, including the iconic Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, Thorgerson and his company, once called Hipgnosis, designed covers for everyone from Led Zeppelin, 10cc, Bad Company, Styx and the Alan Parsons Project, to Audioslave, the Cranberries, Phish, and yes, even Muse. A very small sample of his work can be seen on his website. Books and many record collections spotlight the rest.

Taken by cancer at 69. He will be missed.

PS: He did the cover for I Robot, too.

It's all right. Everything will work out fine.

Reading about this makes me realize just how old Roger Dean and Hugh Syme are as well, and that just depresses me.
