Am i the only one who thinks Kanye's new album is extremely overrated? It's a average record at best but nowhere close to the amount of praise it has been getting.
My username now refers to the thrash Disturbed not the nu metal one.

My thoughts on Death Grips - Exmilitary

Going into Exmilitary seems to be a hard-placed one; the raw emotion and presentation is very rough and the instrumentation feels all over the place with a lack of focus. I'm not sure if each quality helps the album or deters it; I mean it is a Zach Hill project, so assuming slick beats and smooth flow seems a ridiculous expectation/assumption to make.

So far I'd say I'm not sure, but it's a interesting release in the least.

As for this thread, I think the traffic and discussions could be better; going to not go on AOTW again until interest is at the least revitalized to some extent. But I'm still going to try to talk about hip-hop albums I enjoy again to a consistent rate.

I really like Exmilitary a lot, for the most part it's somewhat unique and I love Zach Hill's work on the beats. I still don't think I've full digested it yet though

I still need to listen to this Shabazz Places everyone has been talking about

I really thought I would dig it, but on first listen, Exmilitary is really underwhelming. I fully admit I need a couple more listens to flesh out my views on it, though.

It really is underwhelming, I agree. It just doesn't stick anywhere and I don't even think the record decides on what it is actually doing.

I grew to love Exmilitary after a couple listens.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

I don't think there's going to be any back and forth with this. They didn't respond to the BOB diss track either. I agree though, the guy can rap, even though he probably just did the whole anti-Tyler thing for attention. Seems to have worked if the comments are any indication.
