"What If?" Game

This is the "What If? Game!

We always ask the questions: "What if- he/she didn't die? they didn't break up? he/she did/didn't go solo? they didn't make it big? that member didn't leave the band?" well, here is the game where we figure out what we think would have happened!!!

Here's how it works, one person will answer the above persons question and then post their own question.

Example:
"Poster 1: What would have happened if Yoko Ono never met John Lennon?"
"Poster 2: The Beatles wouldn't have broken up, creating more albums, but Wings wouldn't have been formed, and McCartney, Harrison, and Lennon wouldn't have had the solo careers they had, and the Traveling Wilburys would have never formed.


Then another question will be asked."


Rules: no easy or half-assed answers like "well, music would be the same/different" or "nothing" or "someone else would have" and try to take it seriously
no overasked questions like "would NIRVANA be as popular had Kurt not died or "what if the Beatles wouldn't have been big" or something

What if Buddy Holly had not died in the airplane accident in 1959?

He would have had a few more hits, then, contary to his song, fade away. He does have a comeback during the later British Invasion, and afterwards retires a rich man.

What if Lars Ulrich died instead of Cliff?

Metallica would be in a better state than it is right now, and producing great albums still. And they wouldnt have a mediocre drummer

What if Joe Strummer didnt die?

He would have had a couple more reunions with The Clash did some benefit shows and support The Clash on Rock Band as well as continue to be an influence on modern punk

What if Keith Moon had not died?

The Who would be a popular band for a few more years and release a couple more albums with an improved drum track. He also would've done a killer drum solo at the VH1 rock honors.

What if Steve Perry hadn't left Journey?

What if Stephen Stills had ended up joining the Jimi Hendrix Experience like he had been asked to?

He would have played with Hendrix for a few years, then parted after a showdown between he and Hendrix. Buffalo Springfield, however, would have never done enough together, and as such, Jim Messina would have not gotten any attention. Without Jim Messina, Kenny Loggins never develops the smooth but edged rock and roll sound he is famous for, and the song "Your Mama Don't Dance" would have never been covered by Poison. Oh, and CSNY would have still kept at it. Stills may have loved the blues sound, but he's a folkie at heart.

Courtney Love would claim it was a homocide attempt while Kurt would be in a coma. Dave Grohl would become too devastated and he wouldn't start the Foo Fighters, which in turn would lead to no Probot.

What would happen if David Lee Roth had commited suicide instead of just leaving Van Halen?

OH I KNOW THIS ONE! Nirvana would of deformed eventually and Kurt Cobain would of probably like as he intended; did a project with the members with REM for a new band's album or just a solo album.

What would of happened if Chuck Berry had died before 1959? (which is when he recorded Chuck Berry is On Top, wikipedia the article if you must.)

EDIT: For the Van Halen question, I don't really listen to them, so I wouldn't know how to answer. I also think some of the answers here need to be taken a little more seriously, haha.

For the Van Halen one: The group would have disbanded and gone there seperate ways.
