since this isn't starting until february i think it'd be safe for me to sign up as a topic creator (how does "obscure music of the past 50 years" sound as a topic?).

my main computer's primary hard-drive kicked the bucket last week, so i'm not sure how much i'll be here for the next week or two (i have an extra PC and a laptop, but both are pretty crappy) but i'll be around at least a bit every day if nothing else happens.

I'd be happy to be a thread-creator, maybe on alternative? All kinds, of course. I wouldn't mind just participating though.

And also, since there are PS3 and Wii cards now, you don't even need to send them checks, just pick up a card from Blockbuster or something and PM the code to the winner. And BTW, really good idea.

I don't know how this is going to work (or work well) but I won't shun it. As for participating, I'm not sure. I know that honor system isn't going to work very well. Hell, even in normal discussions I use wikipedia to double check my historical/discography information pretty often. So haha.
