Shades of Red Hot Chili Peppers thread

Its been a week since we took a look at Genesis, now its time for the once funk-rock band turned alternative rock group known as the RHCP!

unlike the previous bands though, the RHCP have had many line-up changes (going from Jack Sherman on guitar, to Hillel Slovak, to John Frusciante, to Dave Navarro, back to Frusciante) so we will have them broken into two eras: funk (s/t to Uplift Mofo Party Plan) & alternative (Mother's Milk to Stadium Arcadium)

    so

    lets hear it!

The Peppers were my favorite group for a long, long time. I have all their stuff and enjoy every album. However, if I were to choose which era I preferred, I would say their alternative rock era, just because that's the style I enjoy more.

lol @ calling their later era their alternative rock era. They were never in that grouping, lololol.

But yeah, their 80s material was by far their best, hands down.

The first one at times could be grouped into the early rapcore sound akin to the Beastie Boys in the 80s, too.

I'd actually group RHCP into two eras:
    Funky Peppers (s/t-BSSM)
    Mellow Yellow Chilli Peppers (OHM-Present)
    Remember zeppelin1969!
