    HMX wants to revive amplitude

I am not sure if this should be here or not so if it shouldn't, by all means move it.

They just need Sony to agree.

If they do continue with it, I hope they eventually release both Frequency and Amplitude remakes for the PSP. I've never had a chance to play them (no PS2) and I know I wouldn't have a PS3 to play them on if they released new games.

Well, all I can say is that this might turn into one more reason to pick up a PS3, once I'm not useless and broke.

Never got to play Amplitude, but it looks like a pretty neat idea... and trippy, too

As much as I would love - LOVE - to see a sequel to FreQuency/Amplitude, I don't know how well it would really work with the PS3 controller. The way they changed the L2 and R2 buttons made the shoulder button controls feel kinda weird for that game. Still, I would love to see another entry in the franchise on the PS3. The thought of another one with not only more than 25-30 songs, but potentially even DLC as well, is amazing. FreQuency/Amplitude had gameplay where a bunch of music genres could be easily represented effectively - everything from Slipknot to Run-D.M.C. to Dub Pistols. To revisit that territory with the access to artists that HMX has now would be incredible.

I was sort of crushed when I heard a long while back that Sony sort of said "no" when HMX wanted to make a sequel to it for the PSP. Hopefully they'll change their tune one day and the franchise can be resurrected on the PS3. And then I can test the game on Insane for Harmonix if they need me.

Well the article implies that Sony is considering it. I personally have never played Frequency or Amplitude, but isn't it basically GH/RB on the controller? If so I really don't see the problem with the triggers, but that's just me.

    In a way...

The song list wasn't that great... but it was VERY addicting... my friend and I used to stay up all night playing this and making remixes.
