    That Captain Beefheart song isn't exactly straight-up blues, but yeah, I can understand how somebody would have a bit of a hard time figuring out his place in the prog pantheon from that one song alone unless they had some more time listening to some of the early psychedelic rock pioneers, at which point some of the real magic of the instrumentation on the song makes itself known

    what prog qualities does that song contain? i hear nothing but blues (but again, i'm new to prog and know only the basics to it.)
