No problem, I ended up hooking up Rangers0013 and leafsfan1977 (thanks by the way guys, it was a hoot! Sorry about the intro in Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold, I mucked that up pretty bad!).

YES!!!! I have been saying that for a while now. Wouldn't it be great to jam on drums with a more experienced drummer! You could teach/learn, and have a blast. Man, I wish there was a way to do that, I really do. The way I learned drums was with an instructor next to me on his kit and it helps, believe me it helps!

This thread is one of the best I have read so far as game play goes, this thread alone has increased my enjoyment of the game by at least 100%.

It would be nice if we had a separate place in the fourm all for us older players!! We could set up jam sessions, torrnaments and stuff.

If anyone has guitar hero, there is a great group of 30s + people who have their own private forum at guitarhero.com. They would love to have some new members. Anyway, check em out. Their tour group name is The Old Dudes...Oh, and most of em also play rock band

If anyone up for a game today send me a message. I should be on quite a bit today

Here is the link to the old dudes...

Hiya everyone again! Thanks for everyone who has added me. I look forward to rockin' out with non mean people I have been practicing on Hard with the vocals, but I am not quite there....I have the most fun singing on medium. Some nights we have Rock Band nights with live (lol) friends. I sometimes play online with my husband and daughter too so if I don't respond, its not cuz I hate you
OH btw I have all the RB1 songs, the additional 20 free tracks, and about 60 other DLC-- all of Nirvana, all of the peppers, Souixie, Steve Miller, Metalica, and a bunch more...
My gamertag is starr42. See ya soon and thank you for starting this thread!

Good deal. It's so much more fun playing with others. If I ever end up on the bass or guitar I'll make sure to send you an invite.

Yes!! I've tried to watch some videos (DavidShek has some great ones with proper cymbal usage on the main board), but it just isn't the same as having someone in person or at least helping you "live" over the 'net. I'm really thinking about setting up my Ion as a full e-kit or getting an acoustic set (leaning towards the latter option) and taking some lessons if my interest in drumming is still this high in, say, six months or so.

That would be really nice. Over time this thread is going to be hopelessly buried because of the way they have this part of the forum set up. Hopefully everyone will still find their way here, or we can figure out a way to keep everyone connected.

starr, just play at what level you have the most fun with! While I can play a number of songs on expert (drums) and am constantly striving to get better, sometimes dropping down a level for certain songs is just more fun. I can jam and not kill myself in the process.

Hey Ray, yeah it was definitely fun last night. My apologies for not accepting your invite tonight though. I was in the middle of creating my band logo and that took some time. Ended up hooking up with SeaStewardess later on though for about 9 songs. She's damn good on Hard guitar I have to say. Anyway, look me up tomorrow night and I'll definitely sit in for a few.

I had a chance to play with SeaStewardess earlier also and yup she rips it both on guitar and bass. I hope to play with the rest of you at some point. Would also like to add that I notice a lot like to play drums. I myself have fallen in love with them. For those that have problems playing expert like myself when there is not a full band playing we could play heads up. You get all the practice needed without failure. It helps and since it looks like every one seems to have a good amount of DLC it could be some good sessions.
A Festivus for the rest of us

It was fun Leafs!!! We'll definitely have to do it again soon . Hooked up with a few others from here too and I must say now that I play with people my own age, I am even more addicted to this dang game lol. Looking forward to playing more with everyone! You all seem like a great bunch of people!! A band vs band night would be great to have. I know u can do it on GHero but I've no idea if u can on RB. I'll have to check that out next time I turn on the xbox. -- Talk to you all later

Maybe we can get them to start an old fogys forum here. Leaf, no problem on not accepting, its never easy, sometimes I leave the room and my controller is still on etc...

SeaStewardess -- if you are into the drums now, it won't go away! I played in school (6th grade to 10th) and then life sort of got in the way -- but, the second my son brought the game over -- WHAMO! -- The monkey jumped on my back again! I have already found a local teacher and started back on lessons myself - never to old to learn! Oh, and getting an acoustic versus playing on the Ion/RB drums. Here is what I am planning on doing and it is very similiar to you. I want the best of both worlds and here is how I plan to do it (for not to much money)!

    1. $420 Pearl Rhythm Traveler 5-Piece Drum Set - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Pearl-Rh...05-i1388111.gc
    2. $100 ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack - http://www.guitarcenter.com/ddrum-Re...78-i1136342.gc

The Pearl set is really nice, its compact, sounds good, and it comes with mesh heads and regular heads as well as rubber practice cymbals! The mesh heads make it a practice set and it is totally silent! Pop on the regular heads and you got yourself an acoustic kit! The drum triggers, slap them puppies onto your Pearl acoustic, plug them bad boys into the Ion controller, and presto! Your playing RockBand on an acoustic set! The best part of all this is that you get 2 drumsets (an acoustic, and a RockBand controller) for a fraction of the price of getting a pro Electronic kit and Acoustic kit. Plus, the cost is not that much more than getting a drum brain for the Ion to turn it into a real ekit -- also, even getting the brain, you would still need to purchase an electronic Hi-Hat rig! I have been saving my allowance now to do this, and I can't wait! (donations accepted!)

Hey Seek -- drums is not really my thing. I sometimes play around on med but that's as far as it goes for me...well, right now anyway. I would eventually like to give them a chance and TRY to become good but the friggin guitar consumes my lil fingers lol. And my drum set seems to have a mind of it's own. It only works when it feel like it...kinda like the hubby...hehehehe....joking lol.

Crystal -- It was a blast last night. You are damn gewd on the mic and yes. you sang yer lil heart out!!!
