Fantasy All-Star Rock Band, Day 1: Pick Your Favorite Vocalist!

Inspired by the numerous Community RB3 Setlist threads over on the Ultimate Setlist boards, I'd like to start a similar game based around putting together a fantasy all-star rock band.

Using xxxN1GH7M4R3xxx's very successful formula, here are the basics:

Each day, I will "audition" for an existing/historical Vocalist, Lead Guitarist, Bass Guitarist, Drummer or Keyboardist (yes, I said Keyboardist) for the band. During a 24-hour period, forum users can vote on ONE person --- living or dead; from any basically rock-friendly genre (including rock, metal, alt, indie, prog, emo, punk, southern-fried, country, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, etc.) -- to fill that slot. The only limit I'll place is a chronological one: has to be someone from the birth of rock 'n' roll (i.e., the 1950s) onward til today.

Once all 5 positions have been filled, that band will be created, and on Day 6, the community gets to choose a name for that band! Then on Day 7, it begins all over again.....with previous selections blocked out, so that new faces will always appear.

Obviously, there'll be some crossover....i.e., many musicians play multiple roles and can sing, play axe, keyboards, whatever....so when making a selection, try to stick to a position that person is "historically" known for.

And from time to time, I'll have a "theme week," which will limit band selections to a certain genre such as metal or punk, which will allow you to "borrow" band members that might previously be blocked out.

When you post, please follow the criteria as demonstrated in this example:

Poster 1 votes for Robert Plant for vocalist, and his/her post should be like this:

Robert Plant: 1

Poster 2 votes for Bono, his/her post should be as follows.

Robert Plant: 1
Bono: 1

Poster 3 also votes for Bono:

Bono: 2
Robert Plant: 1

Please make sure you follow this criteria, posting the tally for ALL the bands nominated to make it easier for everyone (especially me!).


So to begin: select your favorite VOCALIST -- male or female, any genre, from the 1950s on to present -- to be the frontman (person) for the band!
