I'm still scratching a bit of a "weird prog" itch lately, between DSO, Ruins, Magma, and the occasional Butthole Surfers album... of DSO's two albums, the first seems a lot more straightforward (relatively speaking), where the second seems to throw about everything possible at the audience at one point or another. Each seems to be quite different to me for that reason.

Also considering picking up the 40th anniversary remaster of In the Court of the Crimson King, but not sure yet.

i've been making sure i don't listen to as much in large doses anymore, i've been expanding to others, but i went through Guilt Machine, ELP, and Gazpacho the other day, and now i've got an itch for some Spock's Beard

On topic: even though I'm not enjoying the Whirlwind as much as I had hoped, I'm psyched about Transatlantic touring... saw them during the last tour and they were fantastic. Hope their tour is in March or later, so the missus (and I) will be recovered enough from childbirth to go.

I've had the album Emerson, Lake & Palmer for awhile, but I haven't listened to it on my new speakers yet, with the bass boost and the high quality, with it being really loud. Doing that right now, and wow. This album is flat out incredible. I love it so much all of a sudden.

EDIT: Seriously. I'm listening to Tank right now and I realized. I've pretty much never paid attention to a single note before the drum solo. I don't know what's wrong with my mind, but this song is amazing, as is the entire album.
