    Your favorite ballads?

What are some of your favorite ballads?

Little Wing is my number 1. The way the guitar and vocals mix is just beautiful, and the solo is like a cry for freedom.

Wanted Dead or Alive would be my second favorite. The bluesy acoustics are awesome and the solo is just epic. The third would be The Rain Song by Zeppelin. Page mixed the acoustic and electric guitars like two soulmates who were meant for each other. So radically different but so beautiful together.

    What are yours?

    Cemetery Gates - Pantera
In a way it is a power ballad. Very powerful lyrics but also a heavy song.

    Coma White - Marilyn Manson
In a way it is also a ballad. Very sad lyrics.

    Faithfully - Journey
Probably the greatest ballad of all freakin' time.

    Mojo Pin - Jeff Buckley

I know that most JB fans name 2-3 other songs as their favorite ballads of his before mentioning this, but I love the duality of the song. Jeff's guitar work does an amazing job of combining the lustful, slow yearning for someone with the gritty, needy yearning.

Aside from Jeff, I gotta admit... this may be "over-done" and a bit cliche, but I can't help it. One of my favorite ballads since I was 2-3 years old has been "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.

Bell Bottom Blues by Derek and the Dominos.
The first time I heard it the quick little snare rolls in the beginning knocked me out.
