The low, awesome bassline, Staley singing it the way he does, and the wah wah on the bridge is all awesome. If not the best, one of the best.

I have to agree with Rooster- Alice in Chains. Also i'd say Jeremy and Even Flow- Pearl Jam. I always love to hear Vetter sing and Dave Abbruzzese is one of my favorite drummers.

also ive never thought of soundgarden as grunge really. Esp JCP. it seems more like a kickass metal song or something to me.

Soundgarden were grunge, but they had a pronounced metal influence, probably where you're picking that up.

i cannot say what one grunge song is the best ever
but if i had a few choices i'd say either-
bargain basement howard hughes-jerry cantrell
bruise violet- babes in toyland

but my choice would be-heart shaped box-nirvana
(if i was asked most popular grunge then i'd pick smells like teen spirit)
