I, however, put more stock in lyrics than I should have. Lyrics are superficial; they aren't necessary to music, but are really nice when done well.

I've been throwing this Kevin Shields quote around a lot lately.

I'd say bad music is definitely worse than bad lyrics, but when you think that a good song can be completely ruined by a bad set of lyrics, I can understand that line of thinking.

Then again if they're bad in a funny way THERE'S REALLY NO EXCUSE. >O
