Ronnie James Dio for assisting in the birth and development of power metal, his general epicness, and reputation for his allegiance to all things metal. I see Dio still touring, still coherant, still doing Wacken, still sticking to his guns and making his own decisions.

Ozzy was with Black Sabbath from 1970-to 1979 and the band's biggest hits were with him. But for his extreme drug use, the band gave him the boot and got ronnie james dio, who has been with the band since the 80's. Ozzy has gone onto a successful solo career and Sabbath was inducted into the rock& roll hall of fame in 2006. Who do you think was better for Black Sabbath?
This is innaccurate, Dio left Sabbath after two studio albums and one live album, then went on to front solo project Dio, he was then replaced by Ian Gillan of Deep Purple, who was then replaced by Glenn Hughes, who was then replaced by Tony Martin, until Dio came back and recorded De-Humanizer with the band. Then they did a few more albums with Tony Martin, until Ozzy Came back and the band recorded the Reunion live album.

As of right now, the official Sabbath line-up is the original Ozzy, Iommi, Geezer, and Ward, with Dio and Vinnie Appice replacing Ozzy and Ward in a (technically) seperate band, Heaven and Hell.

Anyway, I prefer Ozzy. I feel he's been inconsistent over the years with his solo band, but I prefer his more soulful, bluesier style during his early work with Sabbath.

I understand it is inaccurate, I know the whole story behind it, I've just been to lazy to type it all, but my point being the two most famous and noticeable singers from sabbath are dio and ozzy
