Iron Maiden Wins at the BRIT Awards!

Somehow, some way, Iron Maiden won the award for best live act at the BRIT Awards, basically the British version of the Grammys! They beat out Coldplay, Elbow, Scouting for Girls, and The Verve. It was announced on the Maiden website and pretty much all of us FC members voted, but I don't think any of us actually believed they would win. They pulled it off, though!

Is anyone else as impressed by this as I am?

i am surprised. i would have figured coldplay would have taken it just because they're very "in the mainstream" so to speak.

I'm from England so I just saw it. I jumped with joy I never thought they'd beat Coldplay etc. They also said they're coming back to tour in England later on in the year woo!

Holy ****. I voted Maiden but fully expected Coldplay to walk away with an easy win.

This just emphasizes how ****ing excited I am for the untitled new album coming out this year.

Maiden has an incredibly dedicated fanbase. How else do you think they got to where they are with maybe one to two radio hits?
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

That's pretty shocking, actually. Maybe if the Coldplay album hadn't been released I would ahve saw it, but wow...
Well, everyone, prepare to have your guts kicked out by folk singers...

Is Coldplay actually good live? I'd imagine falling asleep numerous times during their performance.
