    Radio format, that'll do. Time period infers that all rock made during an arbritary time period would be designated as 'classic'.

    I fail to see how Madonna is closer to Chuck Berry than Deep Purple, not that any of them are really similar at all, but at least with deep purple there was prominence of guitar and some blues influence.

    I said 'structurally.' Instrumentally, yes, Purple had slightly more in common, but even then, not that much.
