The new Green Day album is supposedly like The Who.

I listened to a supposed leak of part of a song, and it's got a Who atmosphere there at least.

I'm only really looking forward to

    Decyfer Down - Crash

Maybe the new Skillet album, but I'd have to think about it more

I'm also looking forward to albums from the following artists (album titles are unknown) -

Has Tool announced a new CD coming out this year? O_o I haven't heard anything, and given their trend sicne 1996 I wasn't expecting anything for at least another year or two. But I guess with APC gone Maynard does have more time. So, I guess that's one album I'm looking forward to.

I'm also looking forward to new releases from Muse, assuming it actually comes out this year. Sufjan Stevens if he gets off his lazy ass and releases something will be very exciting, too. The scene kid in me is waiting for new releases from My Chemical Romance and The Used. Of course, these are all tenative releases.

Right now, I'm very excited for Crack the Skye by Mastodon. I'm kind of nervous that they'll take the "Colony of Birchmen" approach for the entire CD, which, the song was awesome, and so is Divinations. But we need moar Leviathan.

I also have a giant pool of new music to sift through thanks to Gowie, so I'm sure I'll find something else within the next couple days, but it will probably be something that only like, 5 people here know because he's almost as crazy as afterstasis.
    Nope.

I'm excited for a lot of albums coming out this year. Mastodon and U2 stand out the most.

The only '09 album I've picked up was The Empyrean by John Frusciante, which I reviewed in the album reviews section. To summarize that: I love it, check it out.

Typically, I'm too busy listening to old stuff to check out new releases (I usually listen to new things about a year after they come out), but I'm definitely looking forward to Crack the Skye, and I'm planning on checking out Megasus' album soon.

    21st Century Breakdown- Green Day
Chevelle's new CD (Hopefully it will come out in 2009)
Aerosmith's new CD (Again, hopefully in 2009)
Serj Tankian's new CD (I doubt it will be released in 2009, but you never know)
And if it is true that Tool will release another CD this year, I am also looking forward to that. Same with Nine Inch Nails.
