Have you played already ABrt / playing on the 10th or are you just there as a supporter? Just curious if I might have seen you around already.
No, we haven't competed yet. But I was there on the 13th and the 20th to cheer on the other competitors and to scope out the setup.

One of my regular bandmates just had knee surgery and we're waiting to hear if he'll be able to travel before we compete.

My wife and I were there on the 20th with a friend, and we took advantage of the open mic free play, during which I played X Drums, my wife played X Guitar and our friend sang X Vocals. We did a Lazy Eye and Roam set which helped to establish my theory about the mic problems.

We'll be there again on the 3rd to test my theory regarding the stage monitors impacting the microphone. So if you see a tall guy trying desperately to hit that final high note on More Than A Feeling, that's probably me.

Melting Pants of Kansas City (of which I'm the vocalist) got this email this morning:

    To all,

I regret to inform you that the song "Teenage Riot" has been removed by our corporate office because bloggers kept complaining that they were still being able to compete with this song. Now we have to ask you to replace your score by choosing a different song next Tuesday, April 7th in order to be fair to all competing teams. If you choose to compete and replace your song with another, I hope to see you there.

    Thank you,
    Liz Nguyen

Its kind of a dick move to wait until the last minute to tell us, but at least we've still got one more shot at it.

I thinks it's funny how some band in KC thinks they can win with Give It Away. Such a one trick pony. I guess Teenage Riot was too **** for their ****mer(seeing how the 1st place band's ****mer could only play it on ****.) Too bad Harrah's folded and took that song out.

Why not take "Give it Away" out as well? That would force bands to play ****er songs like, Bodhisattva, Ramblin' Man, Down With the Sickness, and Tangled Up in Blue if they wanted a good score. Our band is going to pick one of these four songs because you can get as good of a score, if not a better one than on Give It Away.

Maybe if you'd had the balls to show up last week kn0sis you would've seen Vindictive Syndicate competing with Teenage Riot. Maybe if you weren't ScoreHero Zombies with a singer that can't pull out more than 92% on Vox you'd have a right to be so ****y. Maybe if someone in your band hadn't left "Sex?" and a dollar tip with the waitress at Harrah's I wouldn't be so predisposed to dislike you. And maybe Melting Pants gets higher scores than VS. That's the point of the competition right? So let's try to keep the comments above the belt. I'd be upset if my leading score was erased off the board too, but that's no reason to keep being a dick.

Sorry about *** *** previous comment. I'm just a little frustrated that Harrah's would do something like this in *** middle of *** tournament. It's sort of like this: A basketball team plays a basketball game, scores a tone of 3 pointers, and beats *** other team. A week later, *** officials for that basketball game decide that they should change *** rules and declare that all 3 pointers no longer count. They then go back and rewrite *** score, thus making that team lose *** game after it was already played. Totally unprofessional...

As for that "sex" thing, I had no idea that happened until a friend of mine told me a little bit ago. I don't control *** people who come and watch us. I personally would never have done something like that.

Our singer is a great person, don't disrespect him because he didn't do as well as your singer.

I want to end this with something positive. We've researched your band and found that you have a few tournaments undo your belt. Your a great band and we we're amazed at how well you are and especially at how well your singer is. I bet you guys all know each other personally while my band consisted of people from across *** state of Kansas. If you do end up winning, we wish you luck in Indiana. We'll be there on Tuesday, so be on your toes.

Look, I probably took that too far, and you're right I shouldn't call out your singer. It bothers me when people don't treat their wait staff well, it bothers me when things get personal, and it this whole competition, from calibration issues, to rule changes, seems to be running like a crap fest.

Sorry for calling out your singer, that was not cool.
I wish you luck too, and respect for bringing together a band from across Kansas.
Nice analogy by *** way, I can tell you I will probably not play Give it Away OR TR after this competition for a LONG time!

    We'll see you Tuesday.
    Be ready to ROCK!

    Hey Kn0sis,

As t-he VS d-rummer I appreciate t-he follow up post. I don't take offense to your comments -- I usually I play on ex-pert like everyone else. But with Sonic Youth I could get a 96% with constant multipliers dropped or a 2333 note streak and 99% on h-ard. It basically came down to simple math. When Teenage Riot was pulled our score was erased too. Since we had to post another song that evening without practicing (since we had done Teenage Riot for 3 weeks straight) Give it Away was t-he obvious choice.

T-he reason they took down t-he song to begin with is because people saw your original post about being allowed to play Teenage Riot and complained to t-he administrators. So I can't say all t-he blame is on Harrah's for t-he song switch.

You are correct in your assumption -- Vindictive Syndicate is composed of a very tight group of friends. We've been at Harrah's every week to make sure there is someone to cheer on other bands (including those that do better than us) and to meet other people just as obsessed about Rock Band as we are. Best of luck on Tuesday, we'll be there and cheering you on as well.

(Sorry for t-he hypens, it was t-he only way I could get rid of *** "****" everywhere.)

Wow! Venomous exchanges! *** plot thickens! I wish I played where you guys play. Tunica was just a bunch of people having fun! How dull...

If any of you play on XBL feel free to add me. I play everything on ****** with ****** being my best instrument. I'm *** ****mer for Melting Pants though.

Lemme tell you, that was all stage fright on my part. Being up there is rough for the first time.
