Yeah, im still not understanding why people say avenged sevenfold sucks live. I saw them last night in pittsburgh, and they were ****ing awesome. They sound stellar, they do add (or take away) parts of their songs, syn rips 3 SOLOS, they are active in talking to the audience, they are funny, do some cool stuff while they are playing, they DONT **** up, and the light show is ****ing awesome. they have enough stage presence to get by, the crowd was rediculous, and i still don't understand why several people think negatively of them live.
MOAR : Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Children of Bodom, Dream Theater, Devildriver, Endeverafter, Escape The Fate, Green Day, Rush.

I like to see Jamming, and interaction with the crowd. Also play some deeper cuts then just hits. Like When i saw the Who, they segwayed from a awesome jam of My Generation into Cry if You want of Its Hard. Awesomeness.

Generally, I like to see some enthusiasm, energy, and at least minimal interaction with the audience. I prefer it when an artist adapts their material for a live setting (improvising, arranging a song differently, using different or additional instruments, whatever) but these things aren't appropiate for every band, so I guess it just depends on the group in question.

One thing I absolutely have no patience for though is dueling guitars. And long wanky solos where the guitar player makes goofy faces. I guess that's two things.

If I like the band, they sound good live, and have a pulse, then that's a start =p

I'm like afterstasis, I'm for a wide variety of concert stylings, what works for some bands doesn't work for others. I do tend to shy away from pyro-heavy shows, but they're not inherently bad.
    Nope.
