I thought you guys would want to see this. Apparantely Midway is all but done for, and has to try to sell Mortal Kombat. They're trying to get a Key Employee Inscentive Plan accepted.

MK properties are certainly worth something, but I doubt Capcom will get it. The Japanese probably hate the property with a passion for tainting fighting games from a technical game into a sloppy controlled gorefest.
I think it's much more likely Activision will pick it up. Give it to a small studio, have them pump out MK fighters, MK side scrollers, MK action games (like Ultimate Alliance/X-Men Legends). Minor chance that EA or Take2 will grab it.Expert vocals
