Well I find Ziggy Stardust to be probably the most notoriously overrated album of all time. The Whole thing has almost no emotional impact on me at all (and its boring) and the whole thing just seems fake ( when he sings I'm not convinced what hes saying kinda hard to explain ) Or Maybe it just seems like crap when put up against say Van Morrison Astral Weeks. and I don't care about explaining the others and well the Beatles for me are the most overrated musical group of all time. None of there albums are the masterpieces pop critics claim them to be. Yes pop critics there is almost no serious rock criticism.

I love the Beatles, can't wait for the game to be released and listened to nothing but them solidly for over a year. But I have to agree they are quite overrated by a group of people. Namely 14-15 year olds that say they're the best after knowing only two songs and then ask you to by them some cider.

Nirvana - while I listen to them and like them, about 40% of their stuff sounds too-similar to be classified as a different album track. If you take the vocals out of one or two it'd be hard to tell them apart.

RHCP - I listened to them a bit in high-school, but most people I know who like them only do because of the usual "OH MA GEE FLEA IS THE BEST BASSIST EVER" ... yea... right.

No. If you mean 40% as in Smells Like Teen Spirit, and the two songs you've heard on Rock Band, you're still wrong. 40% of Nirvana would include more than one album. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're talking about Nevermind (less than 40% mind you.) The songs all sound very different, with some acoustic songs in there. When you compare those to either Bleach, or In Utero, you get an incredibly varied band.

Led Zeppelin is probably the most overrated band in history. They have a few great songs. There's just so many other bands that have just as good, if not better songs in their discography. Led Zeppelin were just THE band at the time of their height, and came out at the time of many other great artists. They're just overrated, good, but overrated nonetheless.
