    Hardcore Blues?

I'm not sure what else to call what I'm looking for. I've long since liked and appreciated Blues music, particularly blues-rock (electric guitar blues)... I recently saw "Black Snake Moan" (a really cool movie for anyone who hasn't seen it yet) and I just love the songs SLJ does in the movie. It's Blues, but it's Blues unlike what I've heard... like I said, I can only think of calling it "Hardcore Blues"

"Stack-O-Lee" by Samuel L. Jackson, from the film Black Snake Moan

Now, it's not JUST the foul language I'm referring to, although that is a part of it... even the instrumentation is just rawer, dirtier. SRV kind of fits in this category, kind of, but I'm sure there's a whole sub genre of, I'd assume mostly, black hardcore blues men. Suggestions and links would be much appreciated.

    p.s.
No one says mother f***er like SLJ

There's blues-metal, but if you're looking for black artists,

Chicken Heads by Bobby Rush has dirty lyrics, this is more like it though instrument wise Outrageous Cherries. Check out the Black Snake Moan soundtrack CD if you like Stack-O-Lee.

If you're looking for something hard and bluesy, I recommend checking out some stuff on the Voodoo Rhythm record label, it's all really cool bluesy stuff, a lot of influence from swamp blues and early rock and roll. Specifically I'd say to check out The Guilty Heats, Stinky Lou and the Goon Mat, and John Schooley and his One Man Band.

The closest metal-related subject to blues is perhaps stoner doom. But yeah, lol @ blues-metal.

Stoner metal is bluesier than stoner doom.

Stoner Metal? I fail to see how this term relates to any subgenre of the metal tree.

Well, old-school metal (like Blue Cheer and Zeppelin and Aerosmith and AC/DC et cetera) is basically the blues cranked up and with more distortion and anger. More psychedelia too, but it's bluesy and heavy.

There's also punk blues, like some new-ish Mudhoney, White Stripes, et cetera.

(Honestly, I didn't listen to the video you posted. My parents and brother are here and the last thing I need is them hearing whatever the Hell Samuel L. Jackson can be cussing about. XD)

I thought when I saw this that it would be about a newfound genre called "bluescore."
