The Big "We Want More Shoegaze!" Request Thread

The shoegaze sub-genre NEEDS better representation in Rock Band.

The shoegaze sound is typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars. A lump description given to shoegaze and other affiliated bands in London in the early 1990s was The Scene That Celebrates Itself. In the 1990s, shoegaze groups were pushed aside by the American grunge movement, forcing the relatively unknown bands to break up or reinvent their style altogether. Recent times have seen a renewed interest in the genre among "nu-gaze" bands.

Awesome idea for a thread. Is Interpol really shoegaze though? I feel like they shouldn't be there.

How can one mention shoegaze, but not put The Verve on your list??
The Verve is among the best bands of all time.

Yeah I almost didn't add them, but some of the stuff on Turn on the Bright Lights (see: Untitled) could be considered shoegaze. I mostly added them to get more modern stuff on the list.

I wanted to add the Verve, but there was no thread. I guess I'll put them on the "In need of suport" list.

We need some Mew!!! (And why do people write their name in capitals?...)

    And of course Sigur Rós!!

Those two bands... man... would be the best DLC ever.
    SSPU CARNAVAS full album DLC!!
    Sigur Rós

I am going to immediately start a Deerhunter thread, and post the link here. I'd do one for Autolux as well, but I'm fairly certain that I'm the only one on these forums that knows who they are.

Also, Interpol stick out on this list like a sore thumb. I can't think of a single "shoegaze" aspect of their music.

    EDIT! Deerhunter

I may make an Autolux thread later... Just because they're awesome and have a new album out soon.

I updated my post above with some song choices.

I would make a thread for Slowdive, but I only know of one song that would be any good.

RedBaron~ you should add Cranes to the list of bands in need of a thread.

It also might be good to link this thread to the History of Rock Shoegaze thread
