Couldn't it also be done via a patch? The patch could check if you have downloaded the song and replace it if you have or not touch your system at all if you haven't.
Yes... It Isn't That Big Of A Deal
No... It Sounds Terrible
Doesn't Matter... I Wasn't Planning On Buying It At All

maybe it's because they only have one sound drive plugged in.
Yeah I remember them doing this with the album and year information with DLC. I just didn't know if this would be the same since it would actually be a different file from the original. But I guess they could 'trick' the system into thinking it was by naming it the same, etc....

I'm sort of thinking about locking this up.
It has turned into a lot of repeat comments and guesswork speculation, and then people marvelling at the size of the thread.
Obviously the magnitude of concern is great, and this thread shows it. And hopefully that concern will be met and returned with an official answer in due time.
But in the meantime, how many pages of "yeah, I don't like how it sounds" do we really need? It's been a week, no one is trying to "sweep this under the rug" but right now all I see is a circular discussion of: "yeah I don't like it" -> "random spedulation" -> "I still don't like it" and so on.
Apples, you must lock it before it reaches 100 pages! They are conspiring against us!

If the thread gets locked, expect many more threads in the future. I kinda think it's better to keep everything right here.
