    I think that socially, punk was much more important. But this is not about society but music. I still prefer punk but it really depends on my mood.
    It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

    I dont now punk enough to judge but metal is just so huge with such a wide variety of differant sounding bands even within the same genre that I gotta vote for it.

    I think punk in general directly influenced more bands that I enjoy as well, nevermind the fact that most of my favourite artists are punk.

    Yes, in a sense, but punk partially bred all "alt rock"

    I enjoy metal far more, but that's not to say I don't like punk. I think both genres created some pretty good stuff on their own, which in turn helped to influence the other. That being said, both metal and punk have had their fair share of just plain awful inter-genre offsprings.
    Not removing this until Oscar-rio gets a sex-change!!
