I'm not going to deny that metal had a little influence on 'alternative' bands, but I half-agree with you, because punk really forced the bracket.
Well, everyone, prepare to have your guts kicked out by folk singers...

I like metal better, but that's a very hard decision to make.

@ArmsAreLoud: Puck is pretty punk, eh? ****s the system and isn't afraid of nobody.
Making fun of how the OP managed to spell "punk" wrong. :l
I will not remove this until Badmotorfinger is offered as full-album DLC.

    Which attitude do you prefer?
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

I know, but I was trying to turn it into a discussion about Shakespearean characters who are punk! I think the Fool in King Lear is pretty punk too.

@Insane3: I don't know, it depends, are we talking the proper fans or the elitist *****s? In which case, punk has better fans, with the whole D.I.Y. ethic and everyone sorta helping the scene, but I'd rather put up with a metal elitist than a punk one.

I saw metal. I do listen to some punk such as the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, and... The Offspring... if you want to count them.

Punk is cooler as a social thing, metal is my preferred music.

    Moloch with a nose ring?
BlackwaterPark-So if metal is the original 3 movies, I guess that makes metalcore analogous to episodes 1-3. And numetal is the star wars kid video.

You can't be a punk elitist... ew... they're already arrogant. To imagine them elitist makes me puke.

I find there are three varieties of punk. One is the kid who dresses the part, doesn't know more than a few bands, and is annoying. The next is the fat old punk who knows everything, only listens to reggae... and is annoying. The last is the rarest, who likes a good lot of bands, but realises that 'f*cking the system' doesn't mean you have to be rude to everyone all the time.
