All Event and "Bar Night" Organizers Only!!

I thought I would create a thread where dedicated Event and "Bar Night" organizers from all over can discuss and bounce ideas off of eachother. I figured it would help current organizers as well as new comers who pop up and ask questions once and a while.

I run a company in Denver, CO called Death of the Arcade Entertainment. We specialize in hosting "Rock Band Nights" as a trendy and new karaoke alternative. I started in 6/08 and business has been pretty steady. We have one of the most unique stage set ups I've seen so far and have helped to create a dedicated community of video game rockers here in Colorado. I have bounced around from "Hole in the Wall" bars to reputable places like Old Chicago's and C & B and Potts (unfortunately Hard Rock Cafe could not afford a Rock Band Night after months of talks and negotiations but they are still very interest ). I am currently booked at 2 weekly locations and I handle a private party or Video Game Contest (I handle the Rock Band set up and judging for the Colorado Cutthroat Conection) about once a month. Anyways, as I said, I thought we could bounce ideas of eachother regarding things like:

Set Up Ideas
Venue Ideas
Compensation (Pay)
Maybe even National Organization and Contests
Anything else that might be on our minds...

So if your an event organizer, chime in and mention a little something about yourself. Maybe ask a question or 2 or give some advice to someone who is thinking about starting a Rock Band Night.

Actually, this past Thursday was suppose to be our last 1 but through a miscommunication with management, they overbooked entertainment for a huge party that day and a DJ was already set up where we set up Rock Band. After some discussion and gentle per$$uasion, we decided to postpone the Rock Band Night which moved our final night out to this coming Thursday. We have 4 bands confirmed 2 regestered and another "maybe" band that hasn't signed up yet. Should be awesome.

Im afraid of the vocal control options actually getting worst as evidenced by the control scheme for The Beatles and Green Day. And now with the addition of 4 instrument usage, the vocal controller will not be able to be used at all! Here is a thread I started about the harmony vocal controls.

This just made my day:

Across the bottom of the menu screen is something Harmonix calls "the overshell" -- for every member of your band, there's a little popup menu where players can set, using their own instruments, their login name, their instrument track of choice, their own difficulty setting, lefty mode, and any other options. That's right -- no more will your Rock Band parties feature one awkward person yelling out, "Guys! Don't touch anything! Just let me set it up!" Everything works seamlessly -- as one person navigates to the right play mode, everyone else sets their own tracks up and chooses their own options. Additionally, the overshell allows drop-in, drop-out anywhere, anytime during the game -- as Harmonix told us, "this isn't a separate team mode or a party play style," it's everywhere in the game.
