Any tips on mounting a sign in front of the LCDs?
Also, where can you get that fake BASS DRUM?

I just duct tape my banner to the front (actually, the back so it faces the crowd) of the 42" TV that the singer and guitarists use. Post up a pic of what your mounts look like and we might be able to come up with some ideas.

The bass drum is a "real bass drum". I bought a used one from a music store for $20 and drilled a hole in the top to fit the misicians stand through it. It's actually really easy to do.

Well, I was just thinking that the RBBN program might not b able to come back in the same vein as it was originally created.

MTV Games are the ones that organized the RBBN program. In fact, when I spoke to sme HMX folks directly they told me they thought it was a cool program, but they had nothing to do with it directly. Basically HMX develops, MTV Games markets.

Viacom (MTV Games) is looking to sell HMX and when that happens, there is no guarantee that the new owners will pick up the RBBN.

Also, if Viacom is looking to offload HMX then I have a feeling that they will not want to dedicate anymore resources to the RBBN program.

Here's to hoping I am wrong, and even if I am right that the new owner will support a similar program.

Hey Atlanta, it looks like your getting set to visit a few other Bar Nights soon. What, no love for Denver, lol?

Unfortunately, I have the same feeling about the Bar Night Program. On paper, the program probably looked more like a liability than an asset when considering the grand scope of the sale that is taking place. It’s awesome that the program existed at all, but to be honest, it was only mildly helpful when approaching new venues. Being able to throw the “MTV Games” name around as a catchy buzzword is cool but ultimately we are still on our own for securing the bars and selling our services.

I always had this brilliant idea that the Bar Night program could have qualified and then contracted certain Bar Night hosts like us in key cities across the nation to host the Rock Band Bar Nights. In other words, they would be paying us instead of the bars. It would be a guerrilla type marketing approach that would put their product(s) in the hands of countless people every night, with little to no risk (or effort) for the bar owners. I can’t tell you how many uneducated Rock Band consumers I run into at Bar Nights that have no clue what DLC is, that there are “premium” guitars and drums, and that Rock Band will now teach you how to play real instruments. They learn all these things and then go buy them after hanging out with us for an evening. I’m sure the cost of contracting a few of us 2-3 nights a week would be minimal compared to the amount they are already spending on marketing and they would get more for their dollar. But, like I said, this was just my bright idea of what the program could have done for us, and themselves.

Anyways, Death of the Arcade was an “unofficial” Bar Night provider before the program was created and we will continue to be here if it happens to fade away. I hope all of you other established and new Bar Night hosts out there have the same resolve.

    Rock Band Every Night!

I am the owner of Chip Shots Pub in Littleton Massachusetts. If you are interested in playing one of the best rock band setups around, and live in the Massachusetts area, why not swing by Chip Shots?

Chip Shots Pub has two state of the art golf simulators which now do double-duty as game simulators. Xbox games are free to our patrons. These golf simulators are semiprivate rooms which are approximately 10 x 15 x 12' high. Each room has a HD projector which will display a 10' x 12' image on a screen in front of you. Rock Band 3 is now included on Xbox in the simulator room with a Bose stereo system.

Come play Rock Band 3 on one of the hottest setups around a 12 foot projected image in front of you in a darkened semiprivate environment. Over 1000 songs to choose from. Call ahead to reserve the room for your band. (978) 772-0072.

We host Rockband/karaoke 4 nights a week. Sometimes it's mostly RB...sometimes no one does it all...My only complaint is the Drums...is anyone else having problems with their drumset? We've gone through 3 sets now...2 wireless and 1 wired...
We don't charge the customers...we charge the nightclubs a flat fee...IF they want a new song that we don't have..we charge the customer $3. (which we usually make up in tips throughout the night)

Drums will be the most frequently replaced piece of equipment. I don't know how long you have been hosting your bar nights but I have personally gone through about 5 drum sets over the course of almost 3 years. The Rock Band drum siliencer pads help slow down some of the wear & tear if that helps. Good luck with your Rock Band Nights!

Alright, after lurking in this thread for 3 days reading all 62 pages I've decided to introduce myself. My name's Amber I live in a small (3,000 people) town in Northern Idaho. I decided to start a Rock Band Night in my town (to start off with) because I was asked as a patroon at our local Eagles bar (F.O.E) to bring in my PS3 and Rock Band equipment for fun. After contemplating the request for several days I decided if I bring all my equipment and risk the damage to my stuff that I should be paid for my efforts. So I hopped online and starting researching Rock Band Karaoke as a business and found myself here. There aren't any Rock Band Nights in the area that I can find so once I'm established here I plan to travel to Coeur d'Alene (45 minute drive), Spokane, WA (60 minute drive), Moscaw, ID (also 60 minutes) and if there's enough call then to Boise, ID (8 hr drive).

Thank you guys for posting SO much useful information in this thread. I do have a couple questions though.
1.) How far do some of you established Rock Band Karaoke Gurus travel for gigs?
2.) I noticed this thread has died off quite a bit since 2009, why is that? Are you guys too busy with the RBK thing or has the novelty of the game warn off? To be honest I'm a little disappointed that I read through the entire thread just to find out the RBBN website is gone and everyone just kinda gave up on this thread.
3.) Where can I get the downloadable graphics for fliers, websites, ect. that was available on the RBBN website? Do any of you have copies that can be emailed to me ( quit_emailing_me@yahoo.com ), or was that content allowed only for registered RBBN members?

Hope to hear from some of you guys SOON.

sorry to double post but I couldn't get the Edit Post thing to work <.<

I have another question, would having a very small selection of costumes be a good idea or bad idea?
