About going to Pax East. I fly from Atlanta. I'm mostly a fly on the wall except at Harmonix booth so if anyone wants to meet, just let me know.

Thanks RBA, I did get in contact with someone at Harmonix. They were very receptive and like you said are offering their support in several ways which is great.

I am currently getting all our ducks in a row and getting a few venues lined up for the event. We're adding a few features to the rig that will make it stand out from others we've seen... and we hope it'll drive some business to the venues that host us.

Any helpful tips for a DJ and a Rock Band guy trying to make it in this cruel cruel business?

    Thanks!

Rock Band Nights in Las Vegas? Why yes! I currently host Rock Band at a local, centralized bar here in Las Vegas. Every Wednesday night from 10pm till 1am, or later depending how many people want to still keep playing. The name of the bar is LJ's Bar on the corner of Sahara and Maryland Parkway, behind the 7-11 and next door to the EZ-Pawn. We set up indoors during the winter time on a 6' Screen and when it gets warmer, we set it up on the patio including surround sound.

I have a Decent selection of music all of the instruments including the regular guitars, the pro guitar, keys, pro drums and 3 mics for harmonies.

Right now we have a few regulars that come down and rock out, but it would be nice to new people so we can add an even bigger following to the game. Hope to see all of you there, and when you come down as for Randyd and tell them you saw this on the Rock Band Forums.

Pull out your rockband stage kit now it works on RB3

Hi All sorry I have not been in the forum for a while last time I stated I'd post my video location to show the RB stage kit mod I did for my shows. go to U-tube Channels and search /user/RxRKaraoke video tiltle - Rockband lighting.

There are a few old vids when was running at a bar. I'm no longer running at bars instead we have been doing private funtions. I'm to busy with my day job to run a weekly show. Also get paid better doing private funtions + you have a group of people that are ready to go. also posted a video showing my set up in detail.

Im watching the video you just posted, very nice! I just run a 6' screen indoors, and when it's summer time, or at least a bit warmer outside, i put everything on the patio with Surround sound. My major mods that ive done is my drums, and mic's What is your set up time when you do events?

Setup is very mobile it all fits in a shortbox truck. cuase I've been doing this for a couple years I've got it down to about an 1hr & 1/2 for the full meal deal set up rockband, lighting, Karaoke + DJ then beakdown is just under an hour. Typical private show is 4 hours + setup and breakdown so just over 6 hours. As an example one of my last shows I did 1 hour OT not to post my rates I ended up at about $75/per hour + a $75 tip to boot oh yea free drinks & app's durring the show. (on a acreage) so we also plulled a trailer (aka back stage) so no drinking and driving.
Not bad eh. (little canadian plug there)

BTY we (wife and I who do the show, I'm the rodie she's the host) where just talking about Vegas before I saw your post, we were hoping there was a RB show there. Next time we are there we will be looking you up. As we do this because we love it. I play 3 times a week, if we don't have a gig she joins me on weekends.

That is awesome! Well thanks to the post i did earlier about where i host RB, we had a new player come out last night. He said he saw the post, and realized that the event was in 2 hours..lol He came down and we had a blast. Im very glad that this worked out, and hope to see new people every week. Unfortunately, not that many people take advantage of this forum because it is so out dated, but im sure we can change that.

As for you guys coming out to Vegas, that would be awesome! Any time frame that you have in mind?

I'll going to the BICSI (IT Best practice standards) Event in Vagas in the Fall. My day Job will send me down. I was thinking of flying the wife down durring it. I'll bring some IT geeks with me too. Best part is I'm there Client so I get to eat and drink on there bill. It's not like Cisco and IBM can't afford it.

Thats great! If everything works out then maybe you guys can come down for a Rock Band night at the bar. Last week i had a guy show up after i posted the Bar Nights on here, and i hope to have more people showing up also. Just wish that this tread wasn't so outdated, and that instead of oldest to newest entries were the other way around, it could make a huge difference.

Looking good! How exactly did you wire the green laser device? Would like to try something similar to add to my existing mod : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVzepOJj6XY

Maybe you could post a quick howto here, if you have the time : http://www.docsrockbandmods.net/viewforum.php?f=14
