I could probably put something together if you want to see the implementation. You guys need to give me some artistic direction here though: what specifics would you want to see in this "Rockumentary"?
How about a 5-10 min clip of your show? Show a little of the presentation. I am sure that there are a few new peeps to the forum that have read thru the 200 posts and think, Wow, now only if I can see how They are doing it...
The pictures from YRDaddy were nice and they help with this story. You happen to do things a bit different though... you use Karaoke and RB and that most likely comes off a bit different than what doing Karaoke or RB alone.
just my 2 cents...

Getting really excited about this. The first parts of my set-up (other than XBox, game, and controllers) should be in tomorrow. I'm going to run a couple of test groups at the house with my new stuff in a couple weeks to work out the bugs, then it's off to offer my services to the local venues of night life in the area.
Holding out hope for:
Garth Brooks
Coldplay
Matchbox Twenty
Heart
Def Leppard
Warrant
Prince
John Mellancamp
I can definitely take some video footage at my show tomorrow. What aspects of my setup do you guys think would be most beneficial to show in the video though?
As my launch date approaches I would be interested in seeing the way you manage setting up, the event (the routine), and the wrap up and breakdown.
I guess that's really everything, but I am most interested in the time between one song ending and another beginning.
I figure during songs you are just getting ready to announce the next band and managing the playlist.
Am I right?
U2 and Coldplay for Rock Band please!

OK. I'll "produce" a few videos then; one that details my setup, and one that shows a little bit of on-stagery, focusing on the transition between karaoke & Rock Band, and vice versa.
Honestly? During songs I'm working the crowd, buying drinks, answering questions, or leveling the audio mix. Since I use a digital karaoke hosting program, all the old-school concerns about management rotation and disc-preparation are gone!
Same here... I am usually mingling with the crowd, getting new people signed up or introducing myself and explaining what is going on to some new people that just walked in the door. As for rotation, I do "manage" the set list in order to get new people up as soon as possible, other than moving them up, the set list is typically 1st come 1st up on stage. I do not play any music between performances. I shuffle bands on and off the stage with as little downtime as possible (usually about 1 minute) in order to get as many performances out of the night as possible. While the bands are changing, I am usually chosing the song with the singers controller so that all they need to do is chose their difficulty and they are off and rocking!

I occasionally use the stage kit. It's a pain in the *ss because it doesnt have the RB to chose the letter in the alphebet for the song and it's wired. If the venue ceiling is white then I will use it and select songs with the guitar controller. If not then I use a manual fog machine and a standard controller. Either way, the goal is to have the next song selection chosen and ready to go for the next band.
