For those who asked about vocals legibility...

I used a 24" LCD front and center. Sounds small compared to the 42" displays I've read and seen here, but mine is propped about waist high so it sits closer to the singer's eyes. Guitar players are looking at relatively large colored blocks so they aren't as concerned about the sizing on the screen.

For larger setups I have an individual screen for each performer, but for smaller stages even though I might be able to fit them, I stay with just two otherwise people are cramped and cannot move around freely.

You can see them in our videos:

    Question:

Has anyone found that the scrolling text mode is better?

I've been tempted to try it or give the option for Karaoke veterans, but once you try the right to left moving mode it's hard to try the scrolling mode...at least for me.

    Rockband Nights - Organizers forum

Would be happy to be involved in an ongoing forum.

You can check out my last event at www.unleashthis.com

There are a few pctures of the setup.

Using the Bose L1 for sound, 3 tv's for band, 1 for audience, LED effect lights.

Karoke style selection with tunes inbetween for next song set up

    Cheers...Jimi Mac

    Hey Austrailia guys.

I have a guy that has been emailing me for hints and tips. He is looking for someone who might be able to help him out for an event. He is the Managing Director for "The K Faktor FUNDRAISING and ENTERTAINING with LEGENDS". I realize Australia is a large country and you may not be near to this guy but if your interested, let me know and I'll PM you his contact info. Later!

    Best Nights for RockBand

Not certain if this has been discussed in a previous post, however I was wonder the forums thoughts on which nights are working best for a regular night.

I have had a couple of adhoc events on Fridays which have worked well but was thinking of a regular event and was looking for peoples thoughts.

Maybe Thursdays for a regular weekly event and special events on the weekends a little more spaced out.

Would appreciate any discussion and what people are finding is working best for them. Also interested is size of crowds your are seeing and the mix of regulars and newbies. So far my events have been in the 30-40 range and mostly extended group of people who know people through people. Also looking for ways to spread the word and grow the community.

    Thanks

    Jimi Mac

We typically set up on the nights that the venue wants to hire us on. Of course Friday & Saturdays are prime nights that usually do not need a special attraction such as Rock Band to bring people into a bar. So usually a place will want anything from Mon-Thurs to attract people to the bar/restaurant when people do not typically "go out".

Something is wrong with the damn PM, I can't reply to your message. PM me your email address and I'll send his contact info that way, or accept the friend request I just sent to you. For some reason my Rock Band profile will only let me PM someone on my friends list... Sorry.

Chances are I won't be anywhere near the dude (the east coast gets all the action).

I actually just got home about an hour ago from my RB event over in Melbourne. It was a slow start, we had A LOT of technical issues, but things got sorted and the whole thing just got better and better all weekend.

I was pretty busy so I didn't get a chance to grab much video but I'll probably upload some sort of youtube vid soon-ish. For now I need to sleep, 10 hours is tooooo long to drive.

Thanks again for the invite to come down and hang, might even do it again next year if it's on, but I'll come for the Sat & Sun this time.
